Commemorative Bells |
Bells have a rich history in the life of a community or church. For more than six centuries the basic process for casting bells has not changed. Even though mechanical lathes and modern electronic turning devices are now being used by some, the precise art of bell casting continues to rely on old world skills that have been handed down for generations. Bells once told when to rise, when to sleep, when to work and when to play. Bells no longer order our lives, but they continue to inspire.
The Verdin Bell Company, manufacturer of the new Nauvoo Temple Bell and Clocks which now hang in the temple clock tower, has created the Commemorative Nauvoo Bell line. The Verdin Bell Company of Cincinnati Ohio, has been manufacturing Bells across the world since 1842, and continues this proud heritage today. The Bells created for us by Verdin are fully cast bells after the same process used to create the new Nauvoo Temple Bell. Each high quality Bell is cast in bronze, a mixture of copper and tin, with no re-smelted metal used in the casting process. There is no end to the life of a bell and bells cast centuries ago are as fine today as at the time of their casting. |
